Marouane Fellaini set to sign surprise contract extension at United

Marouane Fellaini, who is out of contract at Manchester United and has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford for months, is set to make a surprise U-turn by extending his stay at the club for another two years.

Fellaini said earlier this week that “I am not worried about my contract running out, I am used to it. I am strong enough mentally to deal with it.” He also promised that on July 1st he would reveal his future plans “Soon I will say where I will be playing next season”.

Now, according to Belgian publication, Het Laatste Nieuws, the shock revelation is that the 30-year old will be staying at United.

The news will put an end to speculation linking the 30-year old with a move to Arsenal – which will relieve a majority of their fans, most of whom were against such a switch. In addition, AC Milan and Fenerbahce have also been rumoured as being interested in signing the Belgian international. who could be set to face England on Thursday in their final Group G game at the World Cup.
