Winger’s wage demands make Arsenal wary

Although Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for Spain winger Nico Williams there are concerns that his wage demands could upset the harmony of the dressing room.

Williams performances at the Euros have made him one of the breakout stars of the tournament so far, and Arsenal are one of the clubs, along with Barcelona, who are considering paying his release clause.

However, his wage expectations are proving a deterrent for them because, agreeing to them would make him one of the top earners at the club.

Williams is only 21 and for him to start earning more than experienced players who have been at the club for some time could be potentially disruptive.

It could also have an inflationary expect because other players might demand wage increases to that they can be on parity with the Spanish international.

Barcelona are another club interested in hi, but several of the club’s directors are reported to have similar concerns.
