Nelson wants to leave Arsenal

Winger Reiss Nelson has told Arsenal that he wants to leave them this summer, and that he is now ready to explore other options.

Already there has been interest from a number of  clubs, among them West Ham, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Fulham.

The Gunners want ₤20 million for a player that they turned down approaches for in January.

Nelson seemed on the verge of leaving his boyhood club last summer, but, in the end was persuaded to sign a contract extension. However, having failed to break into the first-team on a regular basis, he now is in need of a fresh start.

His versatility, and ability to play on either wing makes him an attractive proposition for a number of clubs, as is the fact that he is home-grown, helping teams meet their English quota requirements.

At one stage Arsenal fans had high hopes for Nelson, but injuries and the emergence of Bukayo Saka means that his potential has never been fully realised at the Emirates.
