Bundesliga striker turns down Premier League move

RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Seško will not be moving to the Premier League this summer.

The Slovenian international had been heavily linked with several clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea. Manchester United had also been monitoring his situation.

However, he has now opted to stay with the Bundesliga side, and will sign a new deal with them on improved terms.

It is believed that there is also an understanding that both parties have a “gentleman’s agreement” in place regarding a future exit, should the right offer be made for him.

For Arsenal, in particular it is a blow to their plans, with many believing that Seško’s physicality and age made him an ideal recruit to lead the line under Mikel Arteta next season.

However, if there is one advantage to the news coming out now if it that it is before the transfer window formally opens. That means that they still have plenty of time to pivot to other options
