Maresca begins Chelseas squad overhaul

Enzo Maresca has wasted no time in getting his feet under the table as the new Chelsea boss, and has already identified a number of players who are surplus to requirements as he begins overhauling the squad he has inherited.

Signed from Monaco less than 18 months ago,  is earmarked to go, having failed to live up to his ₤33 million price tag.

And he could be joined by Marc Cucurella, who they paid Brighton an initial ₤55 million for two years ago, but has struggled to replicate in a Chelsea shirt the same form he showed for the South Coast outfit. Both Manchester United and Aston Villa are tracking his situation.

Another player they signed from Brighton, Robert Sanchez, could also be headed for the exit door, having lost his number one place to Đorđe Petrović last season, and with the club widely expected to move for a new goalkeeper in the coming window.
