United considering Chalobah move

Manchester United are considering making a move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah this summer.

Erik ten Hag had to cope with a raft of injuries last season, especially in defensive areas, and now Raphaël Varane has left the club, their squad is even thinner in the centre-half position, especially kif Harry Maguire departs in the transfer window.

Chalobah had his own share of injury problems last season, and, even when fit, was not first-choice under Mauricio Pochettino.

And because he is a home grown player, the West London club, who are struggling to comply with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules, any sale is an attractive proposition for Chelsea because it would count as pure profit.

There was one stage last year when Chalobah was linked with a move to Bayern Munich, and a reunion with the manager who first gave him his first-team opportunity, Thomas Tuchel, although that eventually came to nothing.
