Chelsea to bid for Palace winger

Despite the uncertainty over who will be their new manager next season, Chelsea are still preparing to bid for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

They will face competition, though, with Manchester United and Liverpool both interested in the French winger, who, despite an impressive season for the South London club, did not make his country’s squad for the Euros.

Despite more than his fair share of injuries, Olise scored 10 goals in just 14 league starts, and also provided six assists.

Although born in London, Olise has the option to play for four countries through his parents and has chosen France.

He has previous knowledge of Chelsea, having spent time in their academy as a youth, although it was at Reading that he first made his name.

The 22-year old signed a contract extension at Selhurst Park last August keeping him at Palace until 2027, so it will take a major bid to extract him from that.
