Chelsea eyeing Gallagher replacement

In the event that they are forced to sell Conor Gallagher, Chelsea are already lining-up a replacement in the form of Manuel Ugarte.

The Uruguayan midfielder has been linked with the West London club last year, but instead opted to join PSG from Sporting Lisbon for a fee of around ₤51 million.

However, the Blues have kept their interest in the player and he could now be available, because PSG are preparing to overhaul their squad this summer, and Ugarte could be one of those that they allow to leave.

Ugarte is aware of the interest from Chelsea and is reported to be open to moving to the Premier League.

Gallagher may be sold because of Chelsea’s need to comply with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules, with Tottenham and Aston Villa among the clubs interested in him. Any sale of him will count as pure profit in their books.
