Thiago Silva agrees his next move

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has reached a verbal agreement with a new club The 39 year old is set to leave Chelsea in the summer when his current deal comes to an end.

And now he is ready to return to his native Brazil, after agreeing to join Fluminense.

He will sign a contract with them after his time with the West London club officially comes to an end on June 30th.

Although he has been the oldest outfield player in the Premier League this season, he has consistently been Chelsea’s best defender this season and his experience both on the pitch and in the dressing room will be missed.

That is despite the fact that his inability now to play several games in short order meant that he was only a substitute for their game against Arsenal earlier this week.

With him watching from the bench, those that replaced him demonstrated why his departure will leave a big hole in the Chelsea defence next season.
