Arsenal humiliation may cost Pochettino his job

Tuesday night’s humiliation at Arsenal may cost Mauricio Pochettino his job.

Not only was the five goal defeat Arsenal’s biggest win in the 117 year history of the fixture.

It could have been worse but for some erratic finishing by the home side, and a string of fine saves by Djordje Petrovic in the Chelsea goal.

And whilst questions will continued to be asked about the recruitment strategy of the Chelsea owners, they were not to blame for the lack of fight, organisation or leadership by the team that appeared at the Emirates.

Never accepted anyway by the section of the club’s fanbase that continue to associate him with Tottenham, Pochettino will be aware that there is no shortage of candidates to replacen him should the job become available.

As to whether anyone could do better with the resources he has available, is another question entirely.
