Tierney set for Emirates return

Scottish international full-back Kieran Tierney will be returning to the emirates at the end of the season.

He has spent the current campaign on loan in Spain with Real Sociedad, but injuries and inconsistency have plagued his time with the La Liga side, and they will not be taking up their option to buy him in a permanent deal.

However, he faces an uncertain future back at Arsenal, although he remains popular among the fan base.

That is because Mikel Arteta prefers his full-backs to have the ability to invert and push into midfield, something Tierney has not been able to do. There is also intense competition for places at the Emirates, which could yet intensify with another signing in the position a possibility once the transfer window opens.

Instead he could be sold to another Premier League club, or he could rejoin his former employers, Celtic, who would welcome his return.
