Chelsea in the Osimhen race

Despite concerns over their ability to comply with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules, the appetite of Chelsea bosses for high profile signings appears undiminished.

And with their need for a striker well documented, they are one of the clubs interested in signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer, with PSG also heavily linked with the Nigerian.

It has now been reported that Chelsea have scheduled a meeting with the Italian club specifically to determine if they are ready to pay his release clause, which is reported to be around ₤105 million.

Osinhem was a key figure in Napoli’s title success last season, and, although they have not replicated that success this time round, he has still scored 12 times and provided three assists.

Osimhen has recently signed a new deal with a salary of ₤210,000 a week, and with PSG able to offer him Champions League football next season, Chelsea will need to make a sufficiently attractive offer to both player and club if they hope to secure his services.
