Pochettino on borrowed time at the Bridge?

There is a growing possibility that Mauricio Pochettino might not see out the season as Chelsea manager, with reports that several senior players have gone behind the Board asking him to be sacked.

Before their Premier League match with Burnley at the weekend, the Argentine suggested that their own internal data suggested that the club should be fourth in the table. It was hard to explain then how they could only draw with a team staring relegation in the face, and played more than half the match with only ten men.

That result left them 11th in the table, and with hopes of European football fast receding, unless they can win the FA Cup.

It seems inevitable that Pochettino, who has never been accepted by a section of the Chelsea fan base because of his previous Tottenham connections, will go sooner rather than later, and, invitably, speculation will begin as to who might replace him at Stamford Bridge.
