Gallagher told to lower wage demands

Conor Gallagher has been told to lower his wage demands if he wants to stay at Chelsea.

The 24 year old will be entering the final year of his contract this summer, and there have been suggestions that he may need to be sold in order for the club to meet the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules.

Tottenham are already reported to be ready to table a bid for the academy graduate.

That has not gone down well with the Chelsea faithful who unfurled a banner at their last home game with Leicester City threatening to riot if he were sold.

Talks over a new deal at the club had stalled, although Mauricio Pocheetino has indicated that the wants the England midfielder to stay.

However, given the financial situation that the club are in currently, they have indicated to his representatives that he must be willing to lower his salary expectations.
