Palmer set for improved Chelsea contract

Cole Palmer is set to be rewarded for the impressive start to his Chelsea career with a new contract.

The 21 year old only joined the club from Manchester City last summer in a deal worth an initial ₤40 million, but he has proved to be a major success in what ahs otherwise been a mixed season for the club, scoring 16 goals in all competitions, and providing 12 assists.

That form has seen him force his way into the England side, and he is now considered favourite to force his way into the squad that Gareth Southgate eventually announces for the Euros.

Palmer is already under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2030, with the club having an option to extend that by a further years.

However, he can now expect to see a bump in his salary, with potentially the club also willing to extend his contact with them even further.
