Arsenal watch MLS star

Arsenal are watching goalkeeper Patrick Schulte who currently plays for MLS side Colombus Crew.

The 23 year old is also the subject of interest from Manchester United.

For the Gunners, it seems a question of when and not if Aaron Ramsdale will leave this summer. The England international has seen his status as number one at the club supplanted by David Raya, and he will want to playing regular first team football next season to keep his international ambitions alive.

And that may that the Gunners need a reliable number two for next season.

Schulte would welcome the chance to move to the Premier League, but Gunners; fans may greet the news with some reservations.

The last time they signed a goalkeeper from the MLS was Matt Turner, who proved to be an adequate shot stopper, but struggled when it came to playing out from the back.

He was subsequently sold to Nottingham Forest, where he has lost his first-team place.
