Chelsea could get Musiala windfall

Chelsea could be in for a financial windfall this summer, if Bayern Munich decide to sell German international Jamal Musiala.

Although born in Stuttgart, he moved to England as a boy and joined the Chelsea academy.

When he was 16 he moved back to Germany and joined Bayern, but the West London club have a sell-on clause, which entitles them to 20% of any subsequent sale.

He is under contract at the Bundesliga club until 2026, but talks over an extension are currently stalled.

And that could see Premier League clubs seeking to take advantage of his contractual position, with both Manchester City and Liverpool reported to be tracking developments.

With Musiala having scored ten goals and provided six assists this season, and having become a full German international during his time in Bavaria, any transfer would be for a significant sum, which could mean a welcome boost to Chelsea’s finances.
