Arsenal now willing to sell Nketiah

Arsenal are prepared to sell striker Eddie Nketiah in the summer, and have put a ₤40 million valuation on his head.

The academy graduate joined the club as a teenager after being released by Chelsea – ironically on the same day as they allowed Decan Rice to go – and has since progressed through to the first team, and was even capped by England in a friendly earlier this season.

However, since then, he has spent most of the time on the bench, and his first team minutes have been limited to substitute appearances.

He did score a hat-trick against Sheffield United back in October, but has not found the net in the Premier League since.

And, with the Gunners making the signing of an elite striker one of their summer priorities, selling Nketiah will help fund that.

The fact that, in accounting terms, any money they get for him will count as pure profit will also help with their financial position.
