Duo want to sign Zinchenko

Both Bayern Munich and Newcastle United want to sign Arsenal left0back Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer.

The 27 year old Ukrainian international was signed from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, and played a major role in their title push last season, especially with his ability to invert and move into midfield to support the attack.

However, the defensive side of his game has come under scrutiny, and there is also increasing concern at the Emirates about his inability to stay fit.

In his absence, Jakob Kiwior, nominally a centre-back, has adapted to the role, and Takehiro Tomiyasu will soon be available again after winning his own fitness battles.

There is also Jurrien Timber, who suffered an ACL injury in the first Premier League match of the season will hopefully be able to play again soon.

Bayern meanwhile are looking for a replacement for Alphonso Davies, who is Real Madrid bound, whilst Newcastle United are considering an upgrade in the left-back position, with Dan Burn increasingly struggling when up against real pace.
