Arsenal teenager to sign record breaking contract

Arsenal teenager Ethan Nwaneri will sign a record breaking contract with the club, despite significant interest from Manchester City.

On 21st March, he will turn 17, and, on that date, the club will be able to convert his current scholarship agreement into a professional contract.

Already tipped as a star of the future, he was handed a senior debut as a 15 year old last season against Brentford in the process becoming the youngest ever Premier League player, and also came on as a substitute in last month’s win at West Ham, and has been on the bench for several Champions League games.

He also travelled with the first-team squad to their winter training camp.

He is already the highest paid scholar in the club’s history, but with both City and Chelsea closely monitoring his situation, Arsenal have been prepared to make a substantial financial commitment ot secure his immediate future.
