Chelsea facing Kepa problem at the end of the season

Chelsea could face a problem they thought they had resolved at the end of the season.

It seems increasingly likely that Kepa Arrizabalaga will return to Stamford Bridge after his loan spell there finishes, and there will be no moves on behalf of the Spanish club to make the move permanent.

Signed to replace the injured Thiebaut Courtois – another former Chelsea keeper – Kepa moved ot the Bernabeu on the clear understanding he would be the club’s number one this season.

However, having been injured in the warm-up before their Champions League group game against Sporting Braga, Andriy Lunin stepped-up to take his place,  and seems in no mood to give the position up.

And now Kepa’s chances of sealing a dream permanent mood seem to be receding by the day.

That means a return to Stamford Bridge where he will still have two years left on his contract, even though he would seem to have no long term future at the club.
