Neto now favourite to sign for the Gunners

Arsenal are now the favourites to sign Wolves winger Pedro Neto in the summer, helped by two key developments.

In the first place, Financial Fair Play concerns means that the West Midlands club need to balance their books. They have already indicated they are not in a position to buy anybody until after July 1st – the start of the new financial year.

And, Liverpool, who are the main rivals for his signature, will only move for him if Mohamed Salah leaves the club, and they are hoping that they can tie the Egyptian down to a new deal.

The current noises coming out of the Salah camp are encouraging in that respect, with the player favouring a contract extension despite Jurgen Klopp’s departure at the end of the season.

Previously, Neto was valued at ₤60 million, but, given Wolves financial situation, there are hopes that they would be willing to accept less than that for a quick sale.
