Andrey Santos who has been recalled from his loan spell with Nottingham Forest could be heading to Newcastle instead.
Santos joined Chelsea from Brazilian side Vasco de Gama last January in a deal worth ₤18 million, and was then loaned to Nottingham Forest in the summer.
However, that did not go as planned, and he ended up playing just twice for them, once in a Carabao Cup tie and once in the Premier League, where he made a cameo appearance against Liverpool.
However, Newcastle, who were one of the clubs whom Chelsea beat to his signature, remain interested in the 18 year old, and now they could be ready to take him on loan for the rest of the season.
Chelsea remain convinced that Santos will develop into a top player, and are hoping that a spell in the North-East will give him more opportunities than he was afforded at the City ground.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
