Spanish club Villareal are interested in a January move for Arsenal right-back Cédric Soares.
The 32 year old Portuguese international is very much a fringe player at the Emirates this season, with a number of players ahead of them in the pecking order. He did start for them in the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven last week, but that was essentially a dead rubber match.
He joined the club on a free transfer from Southampton in 2020, but has rarely been an automatic starter, and spent part of last season on loan with Fulham, although he rarely featured for them either.
Cédric will be out of contract in the summer, and there is no willingness on behalf of the club to offer him an extension, meaning that they are willing to listen to offers now.
Villareal have been monitoring him for some time, and are hoping they can come to some loan arrangement with the Gunners which would see out the remainder of his contract.
