Bergkamp set to return to Arsenal?

Dennis Bergkamp could be set to return to Arsenal in a coaching role.

Mikel Arteta has offered the Dutchman a chance to coach at Academy level, and Bergkamp is reported to be seriously considering it. He has been out of football since losing his job as one of the assistant coaches at Ajax six years ago, but has indicated that he is itching to become involved in the game again at some level.

If he were to return he would the latest former player to be involved in the coaching set-up at the Gunners, headed by Arteta himself. Sporting Director Edu was part of the Invincibles’ squad, whilst head of youth development Per Mertesacker won the FA Cup three times as a player with the club.

And Jack Wilshere is currently coaching the under-18 side, and guided them to the final of the FA Youth Cup last season.
