Wolves want to take Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale on loan in January with an obligation to buy.
The England stopper has controversially lost his number one spot at the Emirates to David Raya, who was signed on loan from Brentford in the summer, although the indications are that move will become permanent in January.
Ramsdale was named in the Premier League team of the season last campaign, and many thought he should displace Jordan Pickford in the England goal. Despite that, Mikel Arteta has stubbornly insisted on picking Raya ahead of him, believing that the Spaniard offers better control and distribution from the back.
Ramsdale did play against Brentford on the weekend because Raya was ineligible against his parent club, but was a bundle of nerves, especially in the first-half and got away with several major errors.
It is increasingly clear that his future lies away from the Emirates, but whether the Gunners would be prepared to allow him to leave in January without signing a top-class replacement is open to question.
Raya, himself, has not been immune from errors in his time so far in North London.
