Tammy Abraham could be set for a return to Chelsea next summer.
That is because his current club, Roma, are considering offering him in a swap deal involving another former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian international joined the Serie A side on loan at the start of this season, and has impressed so far, scoring eight goals in ten appearances and showing signs of the form that persuaded Chelsea to break their club record transfer fee to sign him in 2021.
There is an agreement in place they will sell him next summer if they receive a guaranteed sum of £37 million.
Now Roma, rather than find that money in one instalment, now may be ready to offer Abraham, who has been ruled out of action until the New Year at least after suffering an ACL injury, in part exchange.
Abrham made a strong start to life in Roma, scoring 27 goals, but his second campaign, before his injury, had not matched that.
