Chelsea tracking Ligue 1 starlet

Chelsea have been tracking 17 year old Leny Yoro, who has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Ligue 1 side Lille.

He became their second youngest debutant in the 2021/2022 season and has since established himself as a first team regular, and also acquired the reputation as one of the best young players in his position in Euroe.

The centre-back, who has played for France all the way up to under-21 level, has is also on the radar of Liverpool and Manchester United, as well as Atlético Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

His current contract with Lille expires in 2025, although they are keen to tie him down to a new deal.

Should Chelsea decide to make a move for him, they are likely to try and follow the same tactic they used when signing Malo Gusto and Christopher Nkonku.

That would see him remain with the Ligue 1 side for the rest of the 2023/2024 season before making the switch to England next summer.
