Arsenal scouts were in Istanbul to watch Galatasaray’s Champions League tie with Bayern Munich this week.
And the player they were there to see specifically was Sacha Boey, who played the full 90 minutes for the Turkish team, and, although he finished on the losing side, had a good game personally.
The Gunners interest in the French under-21 international is not new. They were linked with him in the summer, and, when news of their interest became known, he described it as highly “flattering.” He also indicated that it was his long-term ambition to play in the Premier League.
Now it looks like the Gunners may be prepared to finally make a bid for him in January, with a likely valuation of £17.5 million placed on him.
He remains under contract with the Super Lig side until 2025, so it is by no means certain that they would be prepared to let him go for as little as that this time round.
