Arsenal are hoping to sell full-back Cedric Soares in January.
The Portuguese international, who earns £75,000 has become a marginalised figure at the Emirates, and he has made just one appearance this season, and that was as a substitute, coming on in the League Cup win against Brentford.
He spent the second half of last season on loan with Fulham, but his spell at Craven Cottage was largely unsuccessful as well, and his eight appearances for the West London club were mainly from the bench.
Now 32 years old, Soares is out of contract with the Gunners at the end of the season, so realistically, they will not be expecting they can get much for a player capped 34 times by Portugal.
Soares, himself, may be tempted to stay put, knowing that he can leave on a free contract in six months’ time, and with hopes that he can be paid a healthy signing-on fee by whoever signs him next.
