Ben White is the latest player that Arsenal want to tie-down to a new long-term deal at the club.
Bought from Brighton in the summer of 2021 for £50 million, initially as a centre-back, he ahs since adapted t o become one of the most dependable right-backs in the Premier League.
That is despite his international ambitions currently remaining on ice because of the disagreement with Gareth Southgate and his coaching staff which saw him leave the Qatar World Cup early.
He is under contract at the Emirates until 2026, so there is no urgency to giving him a new deal now.
However, it is very much part of the club’s strategy to tie-down players regarded as key to their future to new deals, and White fits into that category.
The 25 year old scored one of his rare goals with a header in the win away at Bournemouth at the weekend.
