Arsenal have got a small transfer windfall by selling youngster Marcelo Flores to Mexican side Tigres.
The 19 year old had been poached from Ipswich Town’s academy side in 2019, and he went on to impress for the Gunners at youth level, before finally being promoted to their under-21 squad.
He was included in the senior squad for the first time for the Premier League game against Crystal Palace in April 2022, but that proved to be the closest he got to making a first team appearance for the club.
Instead, he was loaned out to Spanish second division side Real Oviedo, for whom he made 15 appearances and provided on assist in what was largely a disappointing stay with them.
Having failed to live up to his potential at the Emirates, the decision has been paid to cut ties with him, and, although the fee they will receive from Tigres is a modest £2 million, it still boosts the kitty, and compares well with the sum they received from Crystal Palace for Rob Holding.
