Fenerbahçe want to sign Arsenal midfielder Jorginho before the Turkish transfer window closes on September 15th.
Signed from Chelsea in January, Jorginho has mainly been a bit part player under Mikel Arteta, although he has come off the bench three times this season, most recently as a very late substitute against Manchester United at the Emirates at the weekend.
The Super Lig side are in the market for a deep lying playmaker, and Jorginho tops their wish list, although whether the Gunners would let him go is another matter entirely.
The news that Thomas Partey has sustained a groin injury that could keep him out of action for an undefined period of time means that they have been left light in the defensive midfield position, and reliant on Declan Rice to stay fit.
And, with the club returning to Champions League action after a six year hiatus later this month, Jorginho’s experience could yet prove invaluable as they set about navigating the group stages.
