Chelsea want to sign another striker before the transfer window closes.
They have already bought Christopher Nkonku and Nicolas Jackson in this window, but Nkonku faces months on the sidelines having picked up a knee injury in pre-season, whilst academy graduate Armando Broja is still working his way back after an ACL.
One of the players believed to be on their radar is Arsenal’s Flo Balogun, who has been linked with a host of clubs this summer, among them Inter Milan and AS Monaco, but, for the time being, remains with the Gunners.
They want £50 million for the US international and are unlikely to want to lower their valuation to sell him to a London rival, especially given some of the sums that Chelsea have already spent on players this window.
And they will also want to recoup most of the money that they paid Chelsea to acquire the services of Kai Havertz earlier in this window.
