Nottingham Forest have submitted a bid to sign Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares.
The Portuguese under-21 international was signed from Benfica two years ago, but he has become something of a forgotten man at the Emirates. He spent last season on loan at Marseille, where he began well, but then he had various issues with the coaching staff, and was relegated to the bench for much of his latter time with the French club.
He still has two years left on his current deal with the Gunners, but they are now prepared to sell him this summer.
Both Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg have expressed an interest in signing him, but the player’s preference is to remain in the Premier League.
West Ham have also been monitoring his situation but have yet to make a formal approach for him.
The East Midlands club have already bought American goalkeeper Matt Turner from the Gunners this summer.
