Southampton are set to sign Arsenal academy graduate Zach Awe.
Now managed by Russell Martin, the Saints are looking to regain their Premiership status after being relegated at the end of last season.
And they are looking to add fresh talent to their ranks to aid their promotion bid.
Now 19, Awe has been with the Gunners since 2012, and, recently, has become a staple of their under-21 side.
He has yet to make a senior appearance for Mikel Arteta, but was once named on the bench for a Premier League fixture against Wolves back in February 2022.
With the Gunners now very well stocked in defensive positions, there is no way through for him at the Emirates, and this gives Awe the chance to play regular first team football.
The Gunners will receive some compensation for the player because of his age, and the cost of developing him to this stage in his career.
