Chelsea are in talks with Ligue 1 side Marseille over a summer transfer for their Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Signed on transfer deadline day last year, Aubameyang’s Chelsea career never really got going, not helped by the man who brought him to the club, Thomas Tuchel, being sacked soon after his arrival.
In his 21 appearances last season, be managed just 11 starts and never managed to complete a full 90 minutes, scoring just three goals in all competitions for them.
That was not the form that made him one of the best strokers in Europe in his days with Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal.
He had been linked to form part of the Stamford Bridge exodus to Saudi Arabia in the current window, but, in the end, that did not materialise.
To move to Ligue 1 he will need to take a pay cut, something it is reported that he is willing to do.
