Chelsea are willing to raise their offer to buy Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo to £77 million.
The 21 year old Ecuadorean international has long been one of the main targets for the Blues this summer, who are hoping to pair him with Enzo Fernandez in the middle of the pitch. And, having sanctioned the departure of N’Golo Kanté to Saudi Arabia, there is an urgent need to replace him.
Arsenal were also linked with him at the start of the transfer window, but have now pivoted their attention elsewhere. The Gunners had tried to buy him in the January window, but their approaches had been rebuffed by the South Coast side at the time.
Brighton, though, have proved to be tough negotiators in recent years, famed for extracting maximum value for money from clubs who want their players, so it remains to be seen if Chelsea’s revised offer is enough to convince them to part with him.
