Tottenham have been linked with a move for Chelsea wing back Marc Cucurella.
They are considering him as a potential replacement for veteran Ivan Perisić. They believe that the player is versatile enough either to play as a wing back or as an inverted full-back, the style favoured by their new manager Ange Postecoglou.
Cucurella moved to West London from Brighton last summer for a fee of £55 million, but struggled to replicate for them the form he had shown for the South Coast club.
His fee made him the most expensive left-back in history, but just a year later they are desperate to get rid of him again, although how much of his transfer fee they will be able to recoup is open to question.
The once-capped Spanish international wants to remain at Stamford Bridge, and has returned to Stamford Bridge hoping to kick start his career again, this time under Mauricio Pochettino.
