Chelsea are considering triggering the release clause of Nicolas Jackson, a striker who currently plays in La Liga for Villareal.
The 21-year old was born in the Gambia, but has Senegalese ancestry, and has chosen to play his international football for them, earning two senior caps so far.
He began playing in Senegalese youth football, before he was spotted and signed by Villareal as a teenager.
Jackson has gone on to make 48 senior appearances for “The Yellow Submarines” scoring 13 times.
His current release clause is £30 million, although the Premier League club may seek to negotiate a deal for less than that.
With personal terms already agreed on a move to Stamford Bridge, talks are expected to progress in the coming days.
With other Premier League clubs, including Bournemouth, rumoured to be interested in the player, Chelsea may be looking to tie him down sooner rather than later.
