Joāo Felix is the first victim of the new regime at Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino.
He joined the club on loan from Atlético Madrid in January, and, although he struggled to impress in his spell with the club, it was widely assumed that he would be staying at Stamford Bridge, either via another loan deal, or through an outright purchase.
Pochettino though has already made his feelings about the Portuguese international, and now Atlético has confirmed that he will be returning to them this summer.
Although he scored four goals during his time at Chelsea, he suffered from playing in a team without a recognised striker.
Pochettino has inherited a disparate and bloated squad, and seems determined to trim it before making some of the additions in key positions that are needed to make the team competitive again in the Premier League. Felix is expected to be the first of many departures in the coming weeks.
