Chelsea have made an offer of £70 million to Juventus for their Serbian striker Dusan Vlahović.
This is not the first time that the 23 year old has been linked with a move to the Premier League. Arsenal were heavily interested in him when he was a Fiorentina player, but he instead opted to join the Turin club in the January transfer window last year for a fee of around £70 million.
However, he has struggled to find his best form in a Juventus shirt, and his return of 23 goals in 62 games for them is below expectations, although arguably this has much to do with the defensive style of football adopted by Massimiliano Allegri.
There are reports that he is unhappy at the Italian club, and would welcome the opportunity to restart his career elsewhere. Given Chelsea’s struggles in front of goal this season, he represents an immediate upgrade on what they have available to them currently.
The fact that Juventus now face the prospect of no Champions League football next season following their latest points deduction means that they may be willing to sell many of their stars now.
