Declan Rice remains Arsenal’s number one priority when it comes to the summer transfer window.
His current club West Ham have indicated that, whilst they accept he may leave them in the coming months, no negotiations will take place until the end of the current campaign, and they are looking for £120 million for the 24 year old.
However, privately discussions between the two clubs are being conducted, with indications that the Gummers are ready to bid in excess of £90 million for him.
There is fierce competition for his services – Chelsea are long-term suitors, but the fact that they are not in the Champions League next season makes them an unattractive proposition.
Bayern Munich can offer him that and so, potentially can Manchester United, although their transfer plans are in the air because of uncertainty over the sale process.
Arsenal, though, remain in pole position, with the North London club eager to get a deal for Rice wrapped-up early.
