Arsenal want to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi this summer.
The Gunners will be aware that the derailing of their title challenge has coincided with the back injury that is likely to rule out William Saliba for the rest of the season.
And with the prospect of Champions League football again next season they have identified that they need quality cover at centre-half, with Saliba’s replacement, Rob Holding, not up to the standard required.
Former Chelsea man Guehi joined the Eagles in 2021 and has made 78 appearances for them to date, a number of those as captain. He has also gained three England caps during that time as well.
Under contract until 2026, Palace are in no hurry to sell the 22 year old, and would expect considerably more for him than the £18 million they originally paid Chelsea.
It is also reported that he may also be a target for Tottenham.
