Chelsea are in talks to sign the highly rated Brazilian teenager Vitor Roque.
Reports suggest that his father has flown to London to meet with agents of the club about adeal to sign him.
Roque himself has always wanted to join Barcelona, but their precarious financial position means that they may not be able to afford the 18-year old this summer.
They have been told they will need to pay his current club Athletico Paranaese £47 million to acquire 85% of his rights.
Given that, until they cut costs and sell players they have been banned by La Liga from signing anybody when the transfer window opens, that may be beyond their reach.
Chelsea, though, face competition from across town in the form of Arsenal, who are hoping that their existing Brazilian contingent could help attract the striker to North London.
However, whilst the Gunners will not over pay for the player, Chelsea recently have shown no such qualms.
