Arsenal want to sign Barcelona defender Eric García this summer.
He is a player that Mikel Arteta knows well, having worked with him when they were both at Manchester City together.
However, he decided to leave the Etihad as a free agent in 2021, and join Barcelona as a free agent.
The Spanish international was a regular starter in his first season with the Catalans, but has enjoyed a far less successful second campaign, and has fallen down the pecking order until Xavi.
And that has led the 22 year old to reconsider his options, and a return to the Premier League and Arsenal may be on the cards.
The Gunners were interested in signing him in January, but, at that time, he did not want to move. Several months further on, though, with his stock at Barcelona continuing to fall, and Arsenal almost guaranteed to offer him Champions League next season, his stance has changed.
