Chelsea are preparing a bid of £100 million to try and sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in the summer.
Osimhen has been one of the stars of the Napoli side that have taken Serie A by storming this season. They have a 19 point lead at the top of the table, and are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
His individual contribution to that has been 25 goals and 5 assists in 29 games in all competitions so far this season.
Napoli, though, want in excess of £120 million for a player whom they bought from French side Lille in 2020 for what was then a club record fee of £62 million.
And Chelsea are not the only side interested in him.
Real Madrid – the side they face in the last eight of the Champions League for a second successive season – apparently eye Osimhen as the potential long-term successor to Karim Benzema.
