Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Marco Asencio who is set to become a free agent in the summer.
The Spanish international has played nearly 270 times for Los Blancos, but is now considering his options after falling out of favour under Carlo Ancelotti.
He is prized for his versatility – although he has played primarily as a right-sided winger for Real, he can also operate on the left and also in the number ten position.
And, whilst he may not have had as many minutes as he might have liked this season, he has still been productive in the attacking third of the pitch, having scored 7 goals and provided 5 assists,
He is earning £167,000 a week, a figure that would put him out of the price range of every other club in Spain, except Barcelona (who cannot sign players anyway at the moment) or Real’s neighbours Atlético, so a move to the Premier League remains on the cards.
