Newcastle United have entered the race to sign Chelsea and England midfielder Mason Mount this summer.
Liverpool are also being heavily linked with a move to sign the 24-year old who is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in 2024.
Although talks about a contract extension for Mount, who has been voted Player of the Season for the past two years have been in progress for some time, they have now stalled, with the two sides reported to be far apart when it comes to terms and conditions.
Chelsea are determined not to repeat the mistakes of the past when they allowed the likes of Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen walk away for free at the expiry of their contracts, so they would rather sell Mount when the transfer window opens again, and get a decent price for him.
Some believe that it would be better for Mount to get a fresh start as he seems to have stalled under Graham Potter.
