Arsenal are considering offering Japanese international Takehiro Tomiyasu to Juventus in part exchange for Gleison Bremer.
Signed from Bologna in the summer of 2021, Tomiyasu had an impressive first season in North London. But he has suffered this campaign from the decision to switch Ben White to right-back to accommodate William Saliba in the team.
He also, by his own admission, found it difficult to adapt his game after Japan’s exit from the World Cup where he was critical of his own performances.
Bremer has had his own share of problems adapting to life in Juventus, having previously starred with Genoa, but the fact that the Gunners already have such a strong contingent of Brazilian players already may mean that he would settle in at the Emirates quickly.
Whatever happens, with a return to Champions League football next season now almost virtually guaranteed, Mikel Arteta knows that his squad will need quality reinforcements to be able to cope.
